National Signing Day Central

UCF's Class of 2016 - the future stars of tomorrow - officially become Knights today.

The coaching staff will be huddled around the fax machine (or other electronic devices) beginning at 7 a.m. waiting for the first National Letters of Intent to arrive. Signings will be officially announced by UCFKnights.com, the official athletics website, as soon as the faxed paperwork is confirmed by the compliance department. The signings list and any other updates throughout the day will be immediately updated here.

In some years, the class has been wrapped up by 10 a.m. That won't be the case today as several commits reside several time zones away in Arizona, California and Hawaii.

On top of that, a pair of targets aren't expected to announce until early in the afternoon - notably Rival250 four-star wide receiver Dredrick Snelson (1 p.m.) and defensive tackle Trysten Hill (3:30).

At 4 p.m., head coach Scott Frost will speak about the class during a press conference which will be streamed live by UCF.

Fans are invited to attend the Signing Day Show which runs from 6-8 p.m. inside the FAIRWINDS Alumni Center across from the CFE Arena. The event is nearing capacity, so RSVP is required.

12:01 a.m.: On Tuesday, UCF officially announced the addition of mid-year enrollee Christian Beard, an offensive lineman from Trinity Valley Community College in Texas. He will have three years of eligibility remaining. Click here to read the Q&A I did with him following his commitment in December. Here's a brief highlight video clip. He's already in Orlando and will participate in spring practice.

12:05 a.m.: UCF is waiting for decisions from several prospects who have not yet publicly committed. Here's a few announcements to keep an eye on - OL Jordan Johnson (9 a.m.; UCF, Georgia Tech or Georgia Southern), DE Eric Mitchell (9:30 a.m.; UCF, Louisville or Toledo), WR Dredrick Snelson (1 p.m.; UCF, Minnesota, Penn State, Maryland or Miami), DT Trysten Hill (3:30 p.m., UCF or Virginia), DT Jamar King (unknown time; UCF, Alabama or Ohio State), DT Joe Sanders (unknown time; UCF or Arkansas State).

7:17 a.m.: CB Brandon Moore of Sanford (Fla.) Seminole is the first to arrive, doing so via text message. Here's the interview I had with Moore following his commitment in December. UCF bio link.

7:30 a.m.: Dr. Phillips speedster Jaquarius Bargnare has signed. He'll be an offensive athlete/receiver type player in Frost's system and could also be a factor in the return game. Bargnare gave a full recap of his official visit a few weeks ago and here is his commitment interview from December. UCF bio.

7:36 a.m.: OL Boman Swanson is official. The South Dade product - and First Team All-Dade member - became a top target for Frost shortly after his hire, committing in December. Here's the interview from December at the time of his pledge. UCF bio.

7:41 a.m.: CB Bryon Brown is official. The Miami-Norland product gave UCF a scare recently when he decommitted and was believed to be headed to NC State, only to recommit to UCF 24 hours later. He had originally committed in October to the previous staff. He visited Orlando on Jan. 22. UCF bio.

7:45 a.m.: RB Jawon Hamilton is official. The South Dade star was the first player to receive a call and official offer from Scott Frost, told that he was their No. 1 RB target. He committed in January, canceling a visit to Syracuse. He had been a former Miami commit. UCF bio.

7:55 a.m.: OL Aaron Dowdell is official. He's currently the highest rated player in UCF's class, ranked four-stars and a member of the Rivals250. A longtime commit to Georgia, the Atlanta-area star recently reopened his recruitment and visited the weekend of Jan. 22. UCF bio.

8:12 a.m.: The first new development of the day - JUCO DL Joe Sanders, who had been committed to Arkansas State, announces he will be signing with UCF. He's a LaGrange, Ga., native and highly recruited coming out of high school with offers from schools such as Arkansas, Colorado, North Carolina, Vanderbilt, Washington and yes, even UCF. His NLI is also confirmed. UCF bio.

8:20 a.m.: New Orleans LB Nate Evans is official. Shortly after the hire of defensive coordinator Erik Chinander, Evans became a top target and he visited the weekend of Jan. 15, committing at the conclusion of the trip. He had also visited Houston. UCF bio.

8:25 a.m.: Safety Richie Grant is official. The Fort Walton Beach-Choctawhatchee star committed a coupe weeks back. He also plays WR but UCF likes him for defense. UCF bio.

8:33 a.m.: WR Dontay Mayfield is official. He was the longest-standing commit in UCF's class, pledging last June and staying solid every step of the way. His other offers included Cincinnati, Duke, FAU, FIU, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, NC State, Rutgers, USF, Syracuse, Temple, Virginia and Wisconsin. UCF bio.

9:15 a.m.: DT D.J. Davidson is official. The Mesa (Ariz.) Desert Ridge committed last night, just a couple days after his official visit. He also had an offer from Memphis. UCF bio.

9:22 a.m.: LB Monterious Loggins is official. The Crawfordville (Fla.) Wakulla committed last night. Cincinnati, FAU and Marshall among offers. UCF bio.

9:26 a.m.: RB Adrian Killins is official. The Daytona Beach-Mainland star was among the most highly-recruited of UCF's commits, visiting Iowa State and Syracuse the past two weekends. Despite the visits, Killins always declared he was solid with the Knights, stating in December that he can't wait to bring UCF Football back. UCF bio.

9:45 a.m.: OL Jordan Johnson is a Knight. The Jacksonville-Ed White product announced at a ceremony at his school, picking UCF over Georgia Tech, the school he had previously been committed to. He had also visited Georgia Southern.

10:10 a.m.: JUCO DL Josh Odigie is official. The California native also had offers from Colorado State, Oregon State, San Diego State and UTSA. He committed in December. UCF bio.

11:50 a.m.: JUCO DL Chris Mulumba is official. He committed a couple days ago over offers from New Mexico, Fresno State and San Diego State. Born in Helsinki, Finland, the 23-year-old is also a Judo champion. I interviewed Chris and his coach earlier this week and will be posting that interview soon. UCF bio.

12:15 p.m.: JUCO DL target Jamar King will sign with Alabama. He had also been considering Ohio State.

12:22 p.m.: The last commit is official - QB McKenzie Milton is a Knight, signed a few minutes after 7 a.m. local time in Hawaii. A longtime commit to Hawaii, McKenzie was actually Scott Frost's initial QB target as he offered him right after he accepted the UCF job. Milton initially declined the offer, but had a change of heart over the holidays and decided he wanted to check out UCF. He committed following an official visit. Milton was the MVP of Oregon's QB Camp last summer. UCF bio.

1:38 p.m.: Rivals250 and four-star WR Dredrick Snelson announced he is going to UCF, spurning offers from Minnesota, Penn State and Maryland. That gives UCF two four-star prospects in this class, the other being OL Aaron Dowdell. UCF bio.
